Movies I've seen recently that I can recommend:
- Bang Boom Bang (neat movie; great references: Motor-Up-ad, Motörhead music, Simpsons, punk T-shirts and a great Ford Taunus of the 70ies)
- La vita è bella (quite a different approach to German history; Roberto Benigni did a masterpiece with this)
- Mein liebster Feind (more sort of a documentary on the relation of the actor Klaus Kinski and the director Werner Herzog done by the latter)
- Zugvögel ...einmal nach Inari (film about a crazy timetable freak, mostly quiet, loads of jokes)
- Macho Man (the only film I know shot in Nuremberg, local trash cult)
My very own list of all-time movie-highlights
The Hollywood movies don't have any relation to my life. That's why I don't like em.
I prefer the films of directors like
Aki Kaurismäki,
Mika Kaurismäki,
Jim Jarmusch or Wim Wenders.
Sometimes I can drag something out of their films for my life. Sometimes they simply entertain with their often weird characters.
Always a good way to find out more about films is the
Internet Movie Database
