Apple PowerMac G4 AGP

Apple PowerMac G4 AGP

The PowerMac G4 AGP with 400 MHz was sold from August 1999 to July 2000. The model code named Sawtooth was on the market, when Motorola was struggling to produce the needed amount of CPUs with the requested speed grade. This lead Apple to temporarily sell the G4 models with slower CPUs at the same price.
After some upgrades, this is what we have here: My model received a RAM upgrade to 2GB (under MacOS9, only 1.5 GB are visible), received a hard disk upgrade to an ATA-to-mSATA adapter with a mSATA-SSD of 120 GB and, last but not least, it received a CPU upgrade. The model ST Encore of Sonnet carries a single G4 CPU running at 1.8 GHz instead of the original 400 MHz, which substantially speeds up the machine, compared to its original equipment.
